diatoms are the most species-rich microalgal class with estimated ≥ 100,000 species, and contribute to 20% of global carbon fixation and oxygen production. secondary metabolites play diverse roles in microalgae-environment interaction. main focus of our group is the functional study of secondary metabolism (metabolites) in diatoms under biotic and abiotic stress.
